Matthew T. Reitzel, Manuscript Archivist, SD State Archives 

Matthew T. Reitzel will offer a presentation on photographs donated this year to the State Archives.  Some of the topics include Town Scenes, Vacation Photos, Postcards, and other South Dakota images throughout the state.

Author David Laskin will speak on his book "The Children's Blizzard." Depicting the accounts of individuals trapped in the infamous blizzard of January 12, 1888.

Virginia Hanson, Archivist, SD State Archives

Virginia Hanson will offer a "Beginning Genealogy" presentation for people interested in starting family research.  Information will also be offered on how to start your genealogy research at the State Archives.  Brief tours of the State Archives will be offered after the presentation.

  Kelli Tjeerdsma & Sandra Korkow, Microfilm Unit
 

Kelli Tjeerdsma & Sandra Korkow from the Microfilm Unit in Springfield, SD will give a presentation on the microfilm operations and how their work can assist researchers.  The Microfilm Unit does preservation on 16mm or 35 mm microfilm and makes sure that the microfilm is of high quality for readability and format.
