This site is a reproduction of a physical exhibit featured in the South Dakota State Historical Society's Archives research room.  It proudly showcases the South Dakota roots of recently elected Governor Mike Rounds of Pierre, South Dakota using documents from the Archives collections.

The exhibit opened January 16, 2003 in conjunction with the legislative reception held annually at the Cultural Heritage Center to welcome legislators to Pierre and the new legislative session.

Governor Rounds' father, Don Rounds, assisted the archives staff in creating the exhibit by loaning family photographs and supplying family history information.  Likewise, Dennis Reinartz allowed us to scan images from his family photograph collection.  We are very grateful for their help and support.

The images were scanned at 300 dpi using an Vissioneer Paperport 6100  scanner then manipulated using PhotoShop6 software. FrontPage 2002 software was used to create the web pages for the exhibit.

Exhibit design and creation: LaVera Rose, Librarian.

Exhibit research: Carol Jennings, Research Assistant
