South Dakota: Land of Vision
The archival collections of the State Archives are a testament to the
diverse vision of many early inhabitants of South Dakota. Their
dreams, aspirations, and philosophies are documented in historical
records that reveal the richness of our cultural heritage.
This online exhibit offers a brief view of the variety of collections
available to the public for research purposes. It was developed to
celebrate South Dakota's diverse history and to raise public awareness
of our valuable archival resources. Many archival repositories
throughout the United States celebrate Archives Week at different times
during October. We hope this exhibit will be the first of many
annual Archives Week activities held in South Dakota to celebrate the importance
of our historical records!
