ACTIVITIES     A flea market is held the last Saturday in March and October in conjunction with the annual antique auctions.
Peter Norbeck Days will be held June 28, 2008 in the Community Building. Program for this year is in the planning stage but it will be entertaining and lots of fun.

Fur Trader Days will be August 9th and 10th. Antique parade, flea market, craft show, softball, petting zoo, water fights using the fire trucks and the Dakota Running Irons (cowboy mounted shooters) will be competing in a 2 day Grand Champion shoot for belt buckles, cash, points towards the world championship and other awards. The last Demolition Derby in the area will be held the 2nd Sunday in October. The Historic Village consists of the Papineau Trading Post built in 1857 (possibly the first commercial building in Charles Mix County), the 1895 Red White and Blue rural one room schoolhouse, a 1930's era WNAX Fair Price Gas Station building, Peter Norbeck's boyhood home, replica of half a keel boat and an original 1900 homesteaders claim shanty.

We recently purchased the former Petrik Hardware Store building on Main Street for our Museum. Have a large display of antique items and more coming in daily. Open Mon, Fri, and Sat. 11 am to 3 pm and by appointment. Donations of photographs and items of significance are welcome and appreciated.
Remember us in your wills or memorials so we may continue to preserve our history.
