They issue two newsletters each year (spring and fall) and have a booth at the annual Dalesburg Festival every June.  They also participate in the NRHP plaque program, by which owners of qualifying structures can apply for assistance to purchase plaques for CCHPC installation on their properties.  The commission also gets involved in reviewing and providing comment on construction projects within historic districts in Vermillion.  In recent years, the CCHPC has also been active in preparation of a historic preservation plan for Clay County and a streetscape plan for the downtown Vermillion Historic District.
