ACTIVITIES

The society’s mission is to preserve, interpret, and disseminate the heritage of Codington County, South Dakota.

The society operates the Codington County Historical Society Museum located in the old Carnegie Library in Watertown, across the street from the Codington County Courthouse. The museum is open from May to August, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday—1:00 to 5:00 p.m., closed Sundays and holidays; September to April, Monday through Friday, 1:00-5:00 p.m.; closed Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.  School and group tours are welcome. Please schedule in advance. Free admission, donations appreciated. 

The museum staff provides group tours, research assistance, and programs as well.
