ACTIVITIES

 

Menno Historical Society operates the Menno Heritage Museum which includes the 1888 Schmitt House and an adjoining 1885 commercial building known as the Shoe Shop or Annex.  The museum is located SW corner 5th Street and Poplar.

Memorial Day - New theme, new displays are ready for visitors/researchers

Annual Fourth of July Celebration - Was combined this year with a four day celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the City of Menno.  Our theme 'Fashions - Then and Now" included a fashion show at the city auditorium.  Sixty early photos were also hung in the Annex.

Christmas week with Merchants' Greetings

At the larger events the Museum opens its lunch counter.  Homemade ice cream is our specialty.

Beneath our Flag is a creative work of art by area artist Jerry Buum in recognition of God, Country, and the men who serve in the military.
