Operates the Loriks-Peterson
Heritage House, which is on the National Register of Historical Places. The
home was built by Pete Peterson in 1909 and purchased by Emil Loriks in
1976. The museum was dedicated on July 4, 1976.
There is a barn in
the backyard of the house containing two floors of antique farm machinery
and pioneer objects, including the blacksmith equipment and bellows that
belonged to Carl Gustav Loriks.
This year the
organization is working on moving the Emil Loriks schoolhouse onto the
ground. An open house is scheduled during potato days, which is August 21
this year.
