Adeline Gnirk, with the help of the society and many other people, got family histories for this third of Charles Mix County together and also the histories of town, churches, schools, businesses, etc., for the book "Epic of the Great Exodus" for the state centennial in 1989.
Members go through weekly papers at the start of a new year and clip out all the obituaries of the past year and file them. The society also receives letters from members of former families of the vicinity looking for information on their ancestors.
The club, now eight members strong, will be hosting the "Barn Again" exhibit this October.
